1998 Volvo S70 car shuts down but starts up again

while driving the car shuts down, however, when i step on the gas peddle it will catch and go again. stall at stop signs starts when i flood the car with fuel, five steps on gas peddle and it will start

Sounds like the mass air flow sensor is going bad. When it does you either get fuel trim fault codes or vehice stalling out and or hard starts with no posted codes.
