No warning to the events. On numerous occassions, the car feels as if it has hit a large object, temporarily lurches and appears to momentarily stall creating a temporary loss of vehicle control. This is followed by an immediate loss of all instrument gauges, air conditioner, window controls and dool locks. The fan did continue to work. The abs warning light also indicated as well as a warning that no brakes function existed. The srs service air bag urgent indication is illuminated. On turning the car off and restarting, the functions of the car return with exception that the srs service air bag urgent indication remains. This problem can take months to repeat or only a matter of minutes. It seems to be more prevalent in hot weather. This is the exact issue that happens to my car. Took it the dealer last summer while it was still under warranty and said might need a new E.C.M. Got any suggestions? Really kind of stuck on this one I dont know where to start.

You are better off taking it back to the dealer for proper diagnosis. It seems that there is a control module going down and bringing the rest of the control modules down with it in the network or you could have a fault in the CANbus wiring either shorting out or going open circuited. Volvo will need to scan all the control modules and try to figure out what is going on? If there are issues on both the high and low speed network then most likely you may have a bad Central Electronic Module. The module is located on the drivers side under the dash. You can remove the soundproof panel and take a peek for yourself to make sure there is no water damage. But like I mentioned before, it can be anything and that is why you need to go to the dealership. Also work out getting a loaner because they may need the car for several days to try and duplicate? Good luck and keep me posted.
