2002 Volvo S60 trunk message

2002 Volvo S60 6 cyl Automatic

I drive a 2002 volvo s60 and just recently on my message board on the dash a message popped up saying "trunk lid open" but my lid isn't open. My trunk button on my remote opener doesn't work as well but the door lock/unlock still work. Anyone know why this message would be displaying or how to fix it? Please help. Thanks

Sounds like you are going to need a new trunck latch. Microswitch inside has failed.
