Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
2002 Volvo S60 Automatic 99900 miles

I have been quoted $4000 for replacement of engine mounts, left and right axles, timing belt replacement, and 100k mileage service.
Given the blue book value, and the cost of repairs, is this type of major repair worthwhile, or is it better to buy/lease a new car with warranty?
The quote is not from the dealer, but from a european car repair shop. Who else could quote this type of work?

Hi there,

Most workshops should be able to do this work, I would first go get a few quotes and compare prices, why do they want to replace the axles?

The axles allegedly are damaged due to the damaged engine mounts. They are distended? Not sure, but its claimed to be related to the engine mount damage. Those axles are a substantial part of the quote, about $1250.
