Just purchased a 2002 Volvo. When I approach 50 to 60 mph it begins to shake vigorously on the right front passenger side. It does not do it all the time, but is becoming more frequent and severe. I noticed that when I hit a bump the shock bottomed out on the same side so I know I need to replace. Please advise so I can fix.

Thanks

Sounds like it needs new struts. However the vibration is not coming from the strut. More than likely there is a tire problem. You can try balancing them first and see if there are any results. Tires can begin to have internal seperations that are not necessarily visable in the tread area until the separation is enlarged. May have to replace a tire/s to know for certain.
