2002 Volvo S60

2002 Volvo S60 Turbo - "oil" in radiator reservior tank. Car has been very well maintained and has never over-heated. I check oil, radiator, power steering etc. almost every week One week ago when I started the car, a warning light came on - "stop engine coolant low." I immediately stopped the engine, checked the reservior, and found it very low. I added coolant. A few days later, I checked it and found "oil" in the reservior - It was low. During this time, the car seemed to run fine. What's happening?

You are experiencing the beginnings of a blown head gasket. The oil is actually engine oil leaking into the coolant chamber of the engine through the leaking head gasket. I would recommend checking your oil. If the oil is milky in color this is due to coolant getting in the oil. I would recommend fixing this before it gets worse. Excessive coolant in the oil can cause washdown of the cylinder walls causing poor lubrication. Internal damage can result from this washdown. Overheating will begin to occur soon and when this happens you run the risk of causing head or block warpage if it gets to hot. Head gaskets are expensive to replace but if let go it can litteraly ruin your motor.
