Transmission problem
2001 Volvo S60 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 67000 miles

I have this 2001 volvo s60 2.4t automatic, When I start the car I can drive the car for at least 20 minutes without any problem, looks like after the transmission reach certain tempeture it starts giving problems only from 1st to 2nd gear, it slips and then it kicks when it shifts, then when you go to 3rd gear or above everything is perfect, but when slow down when it down shift to 2nd and 1st gear you can feel a bang. I already change the oil, and looks like thats not it, I took the car they said that it does not need software upgrade and they said the transmission needs to be replace but I think maybe there is something else to do before change the whole transmission since it is so expensive in these cars. Any ideas?

You can have the valve body replaced on the transmision but you would not be saving very much money. I strongly recommend you replace the whole transmission with Volvo or if you just opt to do the valve body since the transmission control module adaptations need to be reset and an adaptive test drive be done after the repair.
