Timing Belt Damage?

22,000 MILES • 4 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

Is there any way a rodent could get into the timing belt and chew on the belt and nest. This is what the dealership is telling me and from the little I know about the situation there is no way for the rodent to get in there.

ive seen it before
although let them show you the proof

I think it's highly unlikely with the way the covers are.
