hi i have a volvo s40 2006 and a few days ago the honk stopped working and then after 2 or 3 days it started to work again but the check engine light came on ... what is the reason for these misterious happenings

Both problems could be related or you could have 2 different problems? Can you have the engine control module scanned for codes and then post it on here? That will give me some idea to see in what direction to point you?
