Hello, I need to remove the shifter knob and the faux wood plate on top of center console to access the shift cover. The cover on my shifter cracked and when the car is in park, there is a huge hole that is annoying me. I need to replace the piece that covers the shifter. How do I remove the faux wood cover to get to this piece? I have a 2005 S40. Thank you for your time.

I do not understand which piece you are talking about? Is it the piece that says R N D M? If it is you need to take it in to Volvo for replacement since that is a little module. And when you replace that you are going to need to calibrate it which only Volvo can do?
