Brakes problem
2001 Volvo S40 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic? Miles

Hi. I have replaced fron brakes many times, rear drum brakes once. My friend has a volvo and needs all new pads/ shoes. I looked for a diagram for volvo rear brakes but didnt find one. Also the other rear brake shoes I replaced need a specal tool. Do I need one for this volvo? Any tips would be great.

Sounds like you are pretty familiar with the basics. The rear brakes are disc so remove the caliper and yes you do need the special tool to rotate the caliper piston. If you dont have one you can try using some needle nose pliers but you will be screaming and cursing if you do decide to go this rout LOL. Hope this helps. If you need any other advise let me know.
