2001 Volvo S40 Fan Blowing

The fan under the hood runs continously when the car is running and for about minutes after the engine has been turned off.

Hi annettehaynes,

Does the fan start working immediately after starting or when engine warms up?

Fan is activated by Engine Coolant Temperature sensor and it might be inaccurate resulting in the symptoms described.

If coolant level is low, the problem would also occur.
