While having a dead battery. I was having the vehicle charged with a charging unit on high amp charge rate. the key was left on and it was noticed there was white smoke coming from the dash, no smell. After replacing the battery the following lights stay illum. - shift to O.D. arrow, service engine, air bag pic. The vehicle also shifts hard from reverse. I suspect the ECU has been fried. Any way to verify? If so, what items will have to be done with the replacement part and vehicle to be back in service?

At this point it would be better to take it in to Volvo or a Volvo specialist shop to scan the modules and see if any module has gone off line an properly diagnose why your warning lights are on?
