The motor of my Volvo 960 1997 6 cylinder reer wheel drive started to vibrate and loose power After i diagnostic with OBD II it tell me cylinder # 5 misfire how do i test or repair this problem.

Check for spark if present check compression

If the car is still running try this - I had the same problem on my 98 S90 - I suggest changing #5 coil & plug with another cylinder, if the rough running doesn't go away & you still have a code for number 5 cyl., miy problem turned out to be the ignition module. There are two modules, one on either side of the intake manifold. On my S90 the one on the front of the manifold controls cyl 1,3, & 5, changing the unit solved the problem.
