1996 Volvo 960 back up/reverse lights not working

I replaced bulbs and the back up lights do not work. I hear a clicking noise in the gear shift lever when putting my foot on the brake pedal. Is there a relay switch or neutral saftey switch and where may it be located?

Clicking you hear is that the shifter unlocking when stepped on brakes or you will not be able to shift out of park check fuses check wires check neutral safety switch located on the tranny
