1994 Volvo 940 plz help

have the 940 volvo and it wount start checked spark and plugs and it was good there if fuel in the fuel rail and checked the timing marks they all lined up i can smell raw gas at times i think it has to do with timing but dont know i fell back fires in the air box

Check timing chain and gears ..with that many miles i'ts a very good possibility. Get a book on this car and check it out..let me know..
