My engine makes a loud high pitched noise that changes with the RPM's. It almost sounds like a metal on metal grind. Could it be the Harmonic Balancer?

Hi there,

Remove all drive belts and run, if noise is gone it will be in an accessory drive item, if still there, i think you will have to get a mechanic to listen to it as you will need to hear it first hand to help locate it.

I actually did take it to a mechanic and he recommended a new timing belt and tensioner.
