Brakes problem
1997 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am ready to put the rear brake calipers back together when I noticed that the rubber boots are cracked. I have located a company (partsforvolvosonline.com) and they list the seals and boots for my car as being 40mm brake pistons. I have carfully measured the pistons, serveral times, and found that they are 38mm dia. The people at the on line store and myself are confused. Do you have any suggestions ?

Thank you.

DEPENDING ON HOW YOU WANT TO FIX IT, IF YOU WANT TO FIX IT RIGHT, MY SUGGESTION IS THAT YOU BUY THE ASSEMBLY FROM A DEALER. IT ALL COMES TOGETHER IN THE CALIPER ASSEMBLY. SAVES THE TROUBLE OF HAVING TO TRY AND REPAIR AN OLD CALIPER THAT PROBABLY NEEDS REPLACEMENT ANYWAY
