1996 Volvo 850 lost fluid, priming gear box

Transmission problem
1996 Volvo 850 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my volvo 850 r auto estate lost all trans fluid. filled it back up, wont engage gears. it moves through the box ok. does it need bleeding/priming, if so where an how is this done?

Hi there,

How did the transmission loose it's oil? when re filling there is no priming the internal pump will take up with out a problem, run engine & select each gear for a few sec , return to P and wait 2 min, check oil with engine running, if the level is correct there will be an internal fault with the transmission.
