Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 55000 miles

After R & R pcv system problem remains. A compression check revealed 165psi on #5 and 100-105psi on all four remaining cylinders. I purchased the car from a old women in o. Florida who drove it 3-4 months a year while living part time in Fl. And N.Y.
She rarely ventured on the highway and I felt the lack of power was just the result of this style of driving and that a good crankcase flush and some spirited highway runs would clear her out. I can't imagine the rings are wornout at this mileage and again on 4 of 5 cylinders. Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping the 4 cylinders suffer from stuck rings and can be freed up without a topend job.
Please advise.

Hi robbedbyzack,

The low compression could be due to valve leakages so you need to perform a wet compresion test to confirm.

Since the mileage is low, there are some lubs that are supposed to free the rings and clear the sludge, you can give those a try. DO not use those described as engine flush, they won't be of help.
