Electrical problem
1996 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 99,000 miles

I changed that battery car started fine. When I shut down the car the engine cooloing fan continued to run. ?The fan ran for about an hour and I disconnected the battery so as not to drain. Upon any reconnection of the battery the fan starts up. Help Please.

Hi swbro, The cooling fans runs with power from the battery via a relay controlled by the ECM. Either the relay is stuck or the battery replacement has shorted the ECM control circuit. Unplug the relay or give it some knocks to see if it frees up. If possible, substitute a known good one to test.
