Electrical problem
1991 Volvo 740 Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
A friend of mine owns this car so I'm not sure of all the details. I do know the car was dying when going over a pot hole or speed bump. A garage checked it over and said it was the fuel pump. This did not solve the problem. Next, they tightend the suspension. Not sure why, but this didn't work either. Now they say it's something that will cost about 3 grand to fix and they don't want to do it. They did say that the battery cables and things like that were ok. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

With car idling wiggle the wiring harness, see if you can get it to react. Some Volvos had problems with the wiring harnesses falling apart. You proabbly wont find many shops outside of a Volvo specialist that will work on it
