Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Volvo 240 169000 miles

car starts great when cold, and runs fine even for long trips but will not restart after driving unless it sits and cools down completely. it sputters a lot but will not catch. on hot days (90 degree) it will not start, just sputters as if it was not getting gas. volvo mech changed plugs, filters, timing belt and cleaned injectors, intake, throttle plate and did tune up but the problem stayed the same.the fuel pressure was ok when checked.
what next?

Hot hard restarts could be caused by the fuel pump losing its residual pressure due to leaking injectors/fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump check valve.
