Transmission problem
1987 Volvo 240 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
my transmission goes out of overdrive sometimes when im driving at freeway speeds; only way i can get it back into overdrive is to turn the engine off & re-start it

I would suggest checking the ATF level, fluid and filter condition.
