1985 Volvo 240 Engine runs choppy

Engine starts then will not idle. It does run poorly if the throttle is worked. If the throttle is not constantly pumped the engine dies.

I had a 1990 240 DL that acted the exact same way and was real weak on acceleration. try putting a new mass air flow sensor in, it fixed mine and those always go bad on those cars.
