Voltage drops

The voltage drops every time I give it gas, but at idle it works fine stays right where it should, but as soon as I accelerate just even a little it falls below 12 volts and does not come back unless I get off the accelerator.

Have the alternator output checked. As the rpm's ramps up, the draw on the alternator does also.

Place a volt meter across battery terminals,Have asst. raise rpm's check readout on meter,possible dash gauge is faulty.

I would check the alternator out put at the back of the alternator on the main terminal, this will eliminate any connection problem between alt and battery, if out put is ok, then check at battery and if lower by a margin, check connections between alt and battery for loose or corroded terminals.
