CV axle removal

I watched your video on replacing the driver side axle. I struggled a lot with the lower ball joint separation but got it eventually.

In any event I have been trying to get the axle out of the transmission now for hours. Pry bars, screwdrivers, hammers and it will not pop. You said it took a bit of force but I’m afraid to apply much more.

I notice there’s some sort of bearing retaining cap where the axle goes into transmission. It has a couple of bolts. I’m tempted to remove it.

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

If you are trying to remove the passenger side axle assembly then yes. You need to remove the 3 fasteners. See image below. But you should be able to separate the axle from the front of the bracket so you do not need to remove the whole thing.
