1982 Volkswagen Van how to remove cover off of blower motor

1982 Volkswagen Van 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have been trying to take the cover off the blower motor but it is getting jammed on the fire wall side. What am I doing wrong?.

Hi there,

i do not think that this can be done with out taking the engine out. i will see what i can find out on this.

There is no blower motor cover on a Vanagon. The blower is part of the alternator. Take the alternator off and you have the blower in your hand. It's easy. Whoever said you need to take the engine out should NOT be answering anybody's questions.
