Can I use this Oil in my car to top it up?

I have a golf 2.0 tdi gt sport?

Negative!!! that is not Diesel oil if it was the quart would say so, you can only use Diesel oil in that vehicle

"Dr Loot" you are wrong, Mobil 1 0w-40 says it is a gasoline oil, but VW has approved it for use in their pre-2004 engines.
No, a CJ-4 oil or VW 505.01 oil, not for use as fuel.
