2006 Volkswagen TDI Key Stuck in the Lock

Hello,
My trunk would no longer unlock with the remote and also from the inside latch by the driver's side.
I open the trunk manually with the key (Was a bit difficult) and now the trunk will not close and the key is stucked in the lock. This scenario happened 2 or 3 times and this time it seems that the key is stuck for good. What is going on here?

most likely the key is worn or you have damaged it like dropping it on the ground, try using some WD-40 spraying it in the lock and moving the key very gently up and down and sideways and see if you can get it out.
