2carpros,

I have a 2005 Jetta TDI. My question concerns the fan spead control switch. I used the switch yesterday and I could set it to any of the 4 fans speeds without any issues. I get in the car today and the only one that works is the high setting, numerical value 4. I have checked the fuses and nothing else seems out of order. Any reason the other three settings would not be working?

Thanks

Hello and thanks for donating

When the heater / A/C only works on the highest setting, this is most commonly caused by a faulty blower motor resistor pack. It may also be the switch itself though. You need to check the wiring at the switch to ensure that each setting is sending power through. If it is, then the resistor is faulty. If switch isn't sending power at each setting then the switch needs replaced.
