2004 Volkswagen TDI 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 100k miles

Hi there. I drive a vw jetta 1,9 tdi. after the turbo was replaced by myself due to turbo failure the new turbo wont kick in at all. Ive checked all pipes and connections but can't find any obvious reason. can you please suggest what to look for.

Did you replace the waste gate also?

MAF sensor can cause turbo to be inop.i use a bad 2.0 MAF sensor on a tdi to diagnose. will allow turbo to work but will cause a check engine light too... only use for diag purposes.
