Darn, you think with all these questions that the US is really an island. A friend has his sister's 30K 2004 TDI Golf, she freaked and drove it down a slope into a river. Flooded up to hte clutch. Seats are reuined, carpeting is growing fungus. Cleaned, it is getting better but replacement of seats/carpetting needed. Car had fluids replaced, runs fine, although soaked up to the cluth. Am I crazy ot buy it with 30K miles on it? All electrical working fine XCEPT gas latch in car. Radio is scratching (wet?). Good price at 5K. Buy or not? Any ideas? Thanks

I would stay away from it( far away)
as it would be a big problem down the road
electronic will start to fail on it one after the other
will never run right for you
and will never get the smell out of the seats you have to replace them with the carpet
I would use my 5K on something else
this is my personal opinion and from previous experience
good luck
