2002 Volkswagen TDI brakes not working

When I push down on the brake pedal the car doesnt brake, unless I push all the way down, and even then it barely stops the car. The brake pads have just been replaced.

You have lost your vacuum pump, it is located below the injection pump to the right standing in front of the engine, the problem you are experiencing is you lost your vacuum assist to your breaks.
