2001 Volkswagen TDI

Hi I've had my car for about 5 years now and i finally locked my keys in my car. One of my friends works as a mechanic and had to the tools to break in. So we wedged the window open and unlocked the door from the inside but after we did this we noticed that we couldn"t open the door from the outside anymore. Just lookin for some insight on how to fix it

when you slim-Jim a door you always run the risk of damaging the inside latch components, you will have to remove the door panel and see what you have damaged, most likely a clip off one of the rods.
