Recently while pressing on my brakes they kind of kicked back at me and now it is hard to press on the brakes almost as if i lost my power brakes. Do you think this is a leak in a hose or the power brake booster itself?

It sounds to me like you lost your vacuum pump, removed the vacuum hose off your booster start up the vehicle. Put your finger over the hoes and feel if it is sucking.
