Engine Mechanical problem
1983 Volkswagen Rabbit 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have just finished installing a new head gasket on my Rabbit, when I went to start it the cooling system seams to be getting pressurized, to the point the upper Rad. hose looks like a ballon. I took a compression check and all is well 150 psi across the board. No leaking head gasket. Which direction should I go from here?

Hi vcampisi1959,

If the radiator hose rubber is weak, it would balloon up when pressure builds up in the cooling system due to heat.
