Engine Cooling problem
1982 Volkswagen Rabbit 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

coolant no longer circulating; must be pump as all belts and associated wheels are tight and turning; yes? what is reasonable labor time to replace the water pump? also, thermostat has failed - is this an easy replacement?

water pumps do not usually fail in circulation, it sounds like your problem is the thermostat, it is located on the bottom radiator hose at the water housing.
