Air Conditioning problem
2004 Volkswagen Passat 4 cyl Automatic 45451 miles

I took my Passat in to be repaired. He put in a new air conditioning compressor. When I picked it up I was told there were no relays and he could not get the compressor to work. He has to call a friend who knows Volks. to get the part he needs to get the compressor to start. I drove the car away and the more I think about it I feel he did something wrong. He came down in the price orginally quoted over $200. Is there a speclal part needed to get the a/c compressor to work please? Thank you.

Why was the compressor replaced in the first place? If he couldnt get it to run, he couldnt know if it is good internally. Was it locked up? And yes, there is an A/C clutch relay located on the three-fold relay center.
