leaking aniti freeze water level light started flashing

we just bought the 2003 passat it was not leaking when we test drove it had it now for about a week. then water level light started flashing and said coolant was low when we turned the car off it started leaking from under the car on the ground on the passenger side toward the rear off the engine. could it be a hose are the heater core.

Hello,

This leak can be from one of the heater hoses that goes to the heater core. It can also be one of the bypass hoses leaking.

Best course of action would be to do a thorough inspection to see if you are able to see where the leak in coming from
Sometimes it is helpful to do a pressure test on the cooling system. This test pressurizes the system, which can make it easier to detect any leak.
