My gauge will sometimes suddenly plunge from 190 to zero, then rise again to midpoint. Once it stayed at zero for the entire 20 minute trip. My mechanic insists that this is nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't indicate overheating. Is this true, or should I flee to another mechanic?
