2001 Volkswagen Passat Starting

I have a 2001.5 VW Passat, 6 cylinder, manual transmission.

I have an intermittent hard start, turn the key & nothing happens. Sometimes it will take several turns of the key & other times it starts right away. I have taken it to a dealer several times. It seems it always starts for the dealer right away. Can you help?

This would only be an edjucated guess, but if NOTHING happens, no dash lights, no clik sound, then you either have a securty or ignition switch problem developing...
