Brakes problem
2000 Volkswagen Passat Two Wheel Drive Manual 139000 miles

1.8T (Turbo, estate) Just before I come to a complete stop I feel the brake pushing back at my foot. The car stops fine, but I find this a little worrying... I have been told that it's a feature of ABS, especially on VWs? Is this correct? Sorry - not mechanical at all!

The ABS should not operate at all under normal braking. It only interferes when the brakes lock up.

You may have a problem with the booster or some sort of mechanical failure on the brakes or suspension.

Since the brakes are critical system I strongly recommend having it diagnosed by a professional. If you can find a shop familiar with VW/Audi that would be even better.
