Hi i just got a 2000 vw passat and lately ive been having some issues with it.. first on the dashboard a warning sign pops up saying.."emission workshop" so i was wonering what that was?
second lately it has also been accelerating on its own meaning that when it is in drive and i brake at a red light for example, it starts to feel as though it is being accelerated..i can see the rpm needle rising one dash and coming back down i was wondering what that was??
lastly when i push the car to go over 80 to 90 miles per hour it starts to shake alot??

Possibilities here could be the idle air control valve, dirty throttle bore, kinked acc cable and throttle position sensor also check for vacuum leaks
