My car starts but doesnt move more than 5 mph and even moving at that speed it jerks.....the rpm doent go up even when given full accelertor

Any issues that happened that led up to this problem?
Is the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) illuminated on the dash?

No there were no issues but the car stopped inbetween while driving a few days back it was just 2 or 3 times that happened but it was running smoothly.........i am not sure of the MIL but there is a icon on the dash board just below the icon which highlites when the fuel is over that is always on

You could have a bad/weak fuel pump. A fuel pressure test would be able to verify.

The pump and fuel level sensor are mounted together, so it would be a good idea to also have that looked at or replaced if it needs a pump.
