Noises problem
1997 Volkswagen Passat Manual 160000 miles

I had my suspension arms done about 6mths ago and have just recently noticed a loud creaking noise when i turn the wheel in either direction. If i thought it would help i would spray some WD40 on it,

If the upper control arms were installed incorrectly they could have failed already. the bushings in them are very small and will tear if not mounted at the correct angle.
Could also be the steering rod (tie rod) ends, which are common failures on this chassis.
