1996 Volkswagen Passat 6 cyl Manual 90,047 miles

6 CYL. PASSAT ONLY RUNNING 4CYL. TOLD BY MECHANIC IT WAS IGNITION COIL PACK...BUT HE DIDN'T WHICH ONE, ONLY THAT THE PRICE OF THE PART WAS $400. HOW CAN I TELL WHIC COIL PACK? I HAVE THE RESOURCES 2 GET PARTS AT COST. ENGIE WILL TURN OVER...BUT I'M SCARED IT'S GONNA LOCK UP, MAKES A GRINDING SOUND.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

the coil pack is all six all in one thats why it is so expensive but most auto parts stores here in Illinois they are $270.00- 370.00
