I read an existing question regarding a volkswagen:
Frequently after driving in stop and go traffic or after prolonged periods of driving, the fuel pump begins to whine noisily. Shortly after that, the front end jolts violently a couple of seconds after being after being shifted into another gear. Frequently after that, the engine stalls.
I'm in the same situation, I just removed the "main fuel pump", because it was noisy, and I had the same problems.
I have a chilton manual, but it don't tell me if my car have also a in tank fuel pump, and it doesn't explain very well how to understand it.
Do you know where if my years and model has also an in tank fuel pump?
There was a process in the book to test the pump by measurig the deliver, it should be .8 liter for 30 second, in my case was 0.4, but how can I understand if the problem is on the intank pump, or in the other one?
Now I have the main fuel pump in my hands, there is a way to test it?
