Reattaching a door trim

The long plastic strip that runs along the side of my '98 VW Jetta has come unglued and I need to reattach it before the streets get salty this winter. What should I use to reattach it?

NOmally expensive OEM part comes with a new adhesive ready to go. I used 3-M and it still came undone. You can clean the area first then use Epoxy JB weld. You may need to shore it up with like a file cabinet to hold it over night. Ideally, while being held in place whipe the excess off with several paper towels. Clean rough surfaces stick best with JB weld.
