How do I get the old switch out?

1.Disconnect the negative bat. Terminal.
2.Remove the steering column covers. On models with auto trannys, the shift linkage must be in park before removing the ignition switch.
3. Disconnect the large electrical connector on the left side of the switch, then remove the two switch mounting screws and pull the switch out of the housing. Note: The screw heads may be coated with a special locking coating. You will have to chip it off before removal of screws.
4. To remove the key lock cylinder, place the key in the lock and rotate clockwise to the run position. Insert the straightened end of a large paper clip into the hole in the cylinder and pull the key and lock cylinder from the housing.
5. When installing the cylinder align the cylinder as it was (still in the run position with the key in) then push the cylinder in until it snaps in position. Turn the key to the lock position and remove the key.
6.the remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal.
